Folks, HMD is working on bringing back our nostalgic memories. The phone recently launched Skyline featured a Lumia-inspired design and hence got a lot of attention from the tech community. However, this is not the only smartphone that HMD is working on. There is also a Lumia 1020 lookalike with a circular camera module in the works. Let’s have a deep look at the device thanks to the render.
The HMD Skyline featured a rectangular camera module, however the upcoming phone features a circular housing. The render shows five cut-outs in the camera module that may include four camera sensors and an LED flashlight. I really hope the camera sensors are carefully selected and we are not treated with useless depth sensors. I have strong hopes with this one to be a camera-centric smartphone from HMD.
The frame of the smartphone follows the footsteps of the Lumia series. It surely looks unique to the current smartphone market. At the bottom, we can also see the HMD branding. Hopefully, this phone gets the bright yellow color option of the original Lumia 1020.
Currently, there is no name for this device. Though it shouldn’t take long before we have more information regarding this phone. To recall, the Nokia Lumia 1020 was launched back in 2013 and brought a 41MP camera shooter. It featured Carl Zeiss optics and OIS that made the photography on the Lumia a treat. At that time, it was a beast for camera enthusiasts.
Will HMD give justice to the Lumia 1020?
Now that we have an HMD phone coming with a circular cut-out, there is hope that this one will also bring something for the camera-centric consumers. However, it is too early to say about the specifications or other highlights. That said, let us know what are your opinions on HMD’s recent smartphones. Do you think that they can make their name in the competitive tech space?
I hope they make a compact model and not an another brick.
